How we started
Rev Up Local began its journey in the heart of St. Louis when a group of community volunteers noticed a troubling trend: countless neighbors were missing out on vital benefits programs. Despite being eligible for assistance like SNAP, MO HealthNet, and TANF, many St. Louisans in neighborhoods like North City and the Hill were unaware of these resources or found the enrollment processes daunting. After a few brainstorming sessions over coffee at a local diner, the idea sparked to connect vehicle donation with local benefit access.
Through vehicle donations, we could fund a dedicated benefits-research service that would provide the much-needed support local residents required. Each car donated not only helps transform lives but also empowers those in need to navigate the often overwhelming world of social services. Our mission centers on uniting our vibrant community while ensuring no one is left behind.
